About

Welcome!

My name is Holly, the founder of Seeking Selah Yoga. I’m so glad you found your way to this site! Seeking Selah Yoga was born out of a desire to use the gifts God has given me to put His kingdom first by being a Christian yoga instructor. My goal is to bring mental, physical, and spiritual wellness to you through the lens of Christ, because when God is at the center of our lives, all that wellness will be too! There are so many things that are thrown at us each day from a worldly perspective and how do we make sense of it? How do we connect what the Bible tells us to things happening today? What does it mean for us? I hope to help clear the debris off this Christian walk of life to help you find a peace the extends from your soul to your mind and body.

What does Selah Mean?

 Selah. Rest, reflect, and respond.

Selah shows up about 71 times in the Psalms. The most agreed-upon definition of this Hebrew word is that it signals the reader to pause or rest. Then reflect or meditate on the scripture, and then respond. I think we all know how important it is sometimes to take a break. To take a rest, or pause whatever we’re doing to be present to the moment, to clear our minds. So as you read a piece of God’s word, it’s important to pause and process it. Meditation is actually a spiritual discipline. It is in this time that you can really commune with God and be open to what it is He trying to tell you. Or perhaps it is just a time to be present to the Holy Spirit around you. Your response to scripture could be many things. In the moments of a yoga class, it could be a prayer where you talk with God, it could be thanksgiving, or being present and witness to the Holy Spirit in and around you.

A little bit more about myself…

I’m a Christian, wife, (homeschooling) mama, daughter, sister, friend, speech therapist (SLP), aspiring author and now yoga instructor. Can I also add nature-enthusiast who loves being outside as much as possible? In addition to spending most my “me” time doing yoga, I love to hike, bike, kayak, paddleboard -and bake! These things are only made better by sharing them with my husband and 2 boys. Whenever time allows, you may find me relaxing in the hammock under our willow tree in the backyard, grown from a clipping from my Grandparents’ land. I consider myself a life-long learner, trying to put into practice the Spiritual Disciplines of being a part of a church community, reading my bible, pondering scripture, and meditating.
